Where’s the Gratitude?
Re “Lindh Stayed in the Taliban Out of Fear, His Lawyers Say,” March 16: John Walker Lindh’s lawyers are quoted as saying that he “wanted to leave his Taliban unit but could not do so for fear of death.” I must have missed the part of Lindh’s interrogation that was shown on television where he expressed his gratitude to the soldiers who rescued him from the Taliban.
