Intel Launches New Xeon Microprocessor

Intel Corp. started selling a new version of its Xeon microprocessor for more powerful server computers, as the world’s biggest chip maker tries to win fresh sales in machines that run corporate networks. The Xeon MPs go in systems with four or more processors and are based on the design of Intel’s Pentium 4 chips. Shares fell 43 cents to $32.99 on Nasdaq.
