Clerk-Recorder Hailed for His Public Service
Orange County suffered a great loss last week with the passing of county Clerk-Recorder Gary Granville. For over 30 years, as a journalist, professor, political aide and officeholder, Gary’s presence was felt. He cared a great deal for Orange County and truly believed in public service. We will miss Gary greatly.

Some years ago, while attending Cal State Fullerton, I took a journalism class from Gary Granville. He stands out in my memory as a wonderful instructor who took genuine interest in his students.
In the ensuing years, especially during Orange County’s many times of trouble, I always was encouraged to read that such a good and honest gentleman was working to keep things on an even keel.
It is my hope that other county workers have learned from his outstanding example.
