Parks Supporters May Reconsider Protest

Organizers of a protest against Los Angeles Police Commission President Rick Caruso said Monday that they are reconsidering their plans.
The Rev. Frederick Murph of Brookins Community AME Church had organized the March 9 protest with Rep. Maxine Waters in support of a second term for Police Chief Bernard C. Parks. Parks is seeking the commission’s approval for another term.
Murph said talks with Caruso have been “productive.”
“If they continue to be,” he said, “we don’t see a need to have a rally.”
