Pacific Sunwear Posts Rise in Profit, Sales
Pacific Sunwear of California Inc., a retailer of casual clothes and accessories, said fiscal fourth-quarter profit edged up 1% to $14.2million, or 43 cents a share.
Sales rose 15% to $207.6 million, while sales at stores open at least a year were up just 1.7%.
The Anaheim company’s results exceeded the 41-cent average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call.
Pacific Sunwear shares rose 6 cents to $25.27 on Nasdaq before the results were announced. The stock was off as much as $2.02 in after-hours trading.
