Park Food Service Leaves a Bad Taste

I think you left out one important element in “National Parks May Not Be as Crowded as Usual” (Travel Insider, June 2). Food facilities are and have been sadly lacking. Cafeterias do not meet the needs of many travelers.

The flaw is the National Park Service and its exclusive contracts with companies, which eliminate competition in the parks. Otherwise travelers would have higher-quality service and more options for food service.
