Music Center Seeks Bravo Award Nominees
The education division of the Los Angeles Music Center is seeking nominations for its Bravo Award, which honors teachers and schools for outstanding arts education.
Established in 1982, the Bravo Award recognizes innovation and creativity in arts education.
Nominees should be educators who use the arts to revitalize teaching, enhance student achievement and foster self-esteem, communication and teamwork.
Awards are presented to one general-subject teacher, one teacher working specifically on an arts subject and to one school.
The final deadline for nominations is Sept. 9. Those nominated will be required to submit applications, which must be postmarked by Oct. 7. Workshops to help the nominees complete the award application will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon July 18 and Aug. 21 in the education division’s office, 717 W. Temple St., Los Angeles.
The award includes a cash prize of up to $5,000.
