Hindu Nationalist Named Deputy Premier
From Times Wire Reports
Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee began a Cabinet reshuffle, appointing as his deputy a Hindu nationalist leader who wants a harder line against Pakistan and a more aggressive brand of Hinduism.
Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani will also serve as deputy premier, officials said. Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha was expected to swap jobs with Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh.
Advani, 74, has long been seen as the likely successor to the 77-year-old Vajpayee.
