School Bullies to Blame for Removal of Advisor
Re “Removed School Paper Advisor Says Opinion Pieces Did Her In,” June 22
The story about the school paper advisor who was removed from her post and reassigned to an English class by an administrator and the Garden Grove School District because “the paper needed to take a new direction” is distressing but not unusual. Where are the parents’ students, and teachers’ voices of protest? This is an opportune time for the adults to work with the students to find an appropriate way to fight for something they see as worth saving. I find it sickening that in our democracy, administrative educators are allowed to bully gifted teachers who are so badly needed in our public schools. These bullies in education only exist with the express permission of silence from students, parents, and teachers.
