Galanter to Open Valley Offices
City Councilwoman Ruth Galanter announced plans Friday to open two field offices in the San Fernando Valley in early July to serve residents in her newly redrawn council district.
“My new constituents may not have elected me, but they will be getting an unparalleled level of service,” she said in a statement.
To create another Valley district, the council moved the 6th District, which consisted of parts of West Los Angeles, Venice and Crenshaw, to the East Valley. Galanter, who has represented the Westside for 15 years, will start work in her new district in July.
The two offices, one in Van Nuys City Hall and the other at 8135 San Fernando Road in Sun Valley, will open in early July, said Leah Wyman, Galanter’s press deputy.
Also, Galanter announced her Valley staff.
Deputy Chief of Staff Mike Bonin will serve as her district director and Senior District Deputy Audrey King will work on community development issues and special projects.
Trevor Daley will represent the councilwoman in the west Van Nuys, Lake Balboa and Sepulveda Basin areas; Maricela Gomez will represent her in east Van Nuys, Panorama City and Arleta; Peter Brown will represent her in Sun Valley, Pacoima and northeast North Hollywood; and Mario Juravich will work out of Galanter’s office in City Hall and handle district planning issues.
