Va. Executes Man in Teen’s ’92 Stabbing
Associated Press
RICHMOND, Va. — A convicted killer who sought a new trial because his lawyer once represented his victim was executed Wednesday for stabbing a teen 143 times.
Before he was given the lethal injection, Walter Mickens Jr., 47, said he forgave Gov. Mark Warner for rejecting his clemency request three hours earlier.
Mickens was convicted of killing Timothy Jason Hall, 17, in Newport News in 1992.
