Brush Fire Near 57 Closes Freeway Ramps
From Times Staff Reports
The Orange Freeway’s ramps at Tonner Canyon were closed for several hours Wednesday by a 12-acre brush fire on a nearby hillside.
The fire, which started about 5:30 p.m. on Brea Boulevard in an unincorporated area near Brea, was fully contained by 7 p.m., said Capt. Steve Miller, a spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority.
About 45 firefighters battled the blaze, which caused no structural or significant environmental damage, Miller said. Its cause is under investigation.
