Girl Feared Kidnapped Is Found Safe at a Motel
A 14-year-old Macdoel girl thought to have been kidnapped Friday by her ex-boyfriend was found safe Monday afternoon at a Sacramento motel, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department said.
Sandra Luna was picked up by Sacramento police after she called her mother to tell her where she was, sheriff’s officials said.
The girl allegedly was taken from her home by her ex-boyfriend, Hector Rivera, 19. Family members told police that Rivera had become possessive of the girl in the last few weeks. Officers have been interviewing the girl to determine her well-being and the circumstances in which she left home.
Rivera is being held on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants from Siskiyou County, and may face other charges, depending on the circumstances of the girl’s disappearance, authorities said.
