vs. Miami, 7:30, Fox Sports Net 2
Site--Staples Center.
Radio--KPLS (830)
Records--Sparks 20-4, Sol 11-14.
Record vs. Sol--1-0.
Update--With a playoff berth in hand and a two-game lead over Houston in the race for the Western Conference title, the Sparks will be trying to keep their record at home against the Eastern Conference perfect. (The Sparks are 5-0 against the East at Staples Center this season.) Spark guard Mwadi Mabika doesn’t have the name recognition of All-Star most valuable player Lisa Leslie, but she edged ahead of Leslie as the team scoring leader after her 22-point performance in the victory over Indiana Sunday. Mabika ranks seventh in the WNBA at 16.4 points a game. Leslie is eighth at 16.3. Miami, fifth in the Eastern Conference, has lost three of its last four games, but the victory was over New York. The Sparks have never lost to Miami, but escaped with a 69-65 victory over then-winless Miami in May even though Leslie and Tamecka Dixon fouled out. Sheri Sam, a 6-foot forward-guard, leads the Sol in scoring at 14.4 points a game.
