Wounded Woman Remains on Life Support
An 18-year-old woman shot in the head Saturday night remained on life support Monday.
Friends and neighbors said Natalia Broomfield had just arrived at her sister’s house in the 1100 block of West 57th Street when someone started shooting.
Police don’t know why Broomfield, who lived a block away, was targeted or by whom, and said that she had no gang ties.
Friends said she graduated from Johnson Opportunity High School in June and was to begin a job his week with a community organization. At the end of the summer, she planned to start a nursing program at West Los Angeles College.
