One of three inmates charged in the racially motivated attack on a black inmate, who now requires a wheelchair, was sentenced Friday to 42 years to life in state prison.
Superior Court Judge Curtis Rappe imposed the sentence on Ramon Brizuela, 28, who was convicted July 1 of attempted murder. Two other inmates, Carlos Roberto Robledo, 21, and Jesus Alberto Fonseca, 25, await sentencing.
