Wine of the Week

Riesling is gorgeous with food, but it doesn’t exactly fly off the shelves around here. Maybe that’s because not enough wine drinkers have tasted a truly great example.

This is one, perhaps the best that Maison Trimbach has made in years. Tense and tightly coiled, it reveals its facets of minerals, citrus and vivacious acidity slowly in the glass. It has a long languid finish that just goes on and on.

Like other Alsatian Rieslings, it is absolutely dry and beautifully pitched, like a clear-toned bell. It weaves its magic on all sorts of food but seems especially suited to seafood and Asian food.
