Officer Hurt, Suspect Dies in Freeway Shootout

A Los Angeles police officer was wounded and a suspect killed Saturday night in a shootout on the Harbor Freeway, authorities said.
The officer was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm and reported in stable condition, police said. The suspect died at the scene, authorities said.
Both sides of the Harbor Freeway were shut down.
