Second Dog in Fatal Mauling Is Destroyed
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Hera, one of the two dogs involved in last year’s fatal mauling of Diane Whipple, was euthanized Wednesday.
Hera had been in city custody since Jan. 26, 2001. Bane, the male Presa Canario primarily responsible for the mauling, was killed immediately after the attack.
A city hearing officer determined that Hera, a female Presa Canario, was dangerous and ordered that she be destroyed.
