Conductor Russell Fox
Re “Sunshine on Sunrise Service,” editorial, Jan. 29: Music draws thousands in L.A. to the Easter sunrise service. Russell Fox, conductor of the service, has for years performed a miracle with amateur choirs, various orchestras and minimal rehearsal time. A highly skilled musician, he works with grace and warmth, having the perfect temperament to be the maestro for such an event.
Imagine if they tossed a coin to decide who could use the Music Center. Would the L.A. Philharmonic be replaced by John Tesh or the Backstreet Boys?
