7 Troops Die, 22 Missing in Blast at Rebel Site
From Times Wire Reports
A guerrilla hide-out housing two tons of dynamite exploded, killing at least seven Colombian troops who had seized the building, the army said. Twenty-two other soldiers were missing.
The blast occurred at a house in the El Dorado district of the central province of Meta. Authorities said the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, used the building to store explosives.
The army said troops had seized the cache after fighting in which four FARC rebels were killed.
