Defense Seeks to Bar Testimony on Rapes
Saying the evidence is so prejudicial that it will bias a jury, defense lawyers are asking a judge to bar testimony about a dozen rapes and sexual assaults allegedly committed by accused killer Vincent Sanchez.
An unemployed handyman, Sanchez, 31, is already facing multiple life prison sentences after admitting that he sexually assaulted several women in Simi Valley and the western San Fernando Valley between September 1996 and July 2001.
He remains accused of shooting Moorpark college student Megan Barroso, 20, last year during an attempted rape and kidnapping-allegations that make him eligible for the death penalty.
