Would-Be Robbers Fail to Plan, Fail to Score
From Times Wire Reports
Two armed men who apparently had planned to walk into an Elkhart, Ind., bank and rob it were foiled when they found out that the branch only offered drive-through service, police said.
A passerby told police that two men wearing ski masks and carrying rifles were loitering outside a Bank One branch, but the men couldn’t get inside.
“The doors leading into the building are always locked,” said Bank One spokeswoman Nancy Norris.
The men left before police arrived. The stolen car they had been driving was found later.
