TV Azteca Acquires Stake in 2 U.S. Stations

TV Azteca, Mexico’s second-largest broadcaster, said it acquired a 25% stake in two U.S. television stations serving the San Francisco Bay Area and Houston for $70 million
The stations, KTNC-TV Channel 42 and KAZH-TV Channel 57, are owned by privately held Pappas Telecasting Cos. and will join Azteca’s network of affiliates. TV Azteca said it will be able to reach about 28% of the U.S. Hispanic market through the addition of the two stations.
