From Times Staff Reports
A Port Hueneme man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after one of his dogs attacked a police officer responding to a domestic violence call, officials said.
Edgar Salinas, 29, also faced a possible child-abuse charge after the Tuesday afternoon incident, police said.
When officers arrived at the West 5th Street home, Salinas came out with two Rottweilers, Police Cmdr. Jerry Beck said. One officer shot and killed one of the dogs after it bit him.
