Voters Have Winner in ‘Mind’
For once, the Grammys got it right on the first try. Eve and Gwen Stefani’s victory for “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” for rap/sung collaboration signals a strong start for this new category. The sexy record, co-produced by Dr. Dre, is a powerful statement for hip-hop itself, demonstrating how the music incorporates elements from other genres--in this case Stefani’s pop-punk vocals--and makes them its own.
