Pedestrian Struck by Car Dies of Head Wounds

A 44-year-old man died early Sunday after being hit by a car in Oxnard the night before, authorities said.
Jose Luis Romero Estrada of Oxnard was crossing Pleasant Valley Road near Perkins Road about 7 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a 1966 Chevrolet Impala, Oxnard police said.
Estrada was pronounced dead about 4 a.m. Sunday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
Driver Antonio Cervantes, 25, of Oxnard was interviewed by police but not cited.
