Crockrom Leads No. 9 Baylor

Danielle Crockrom turned in another great performance in the final home game of her career.

The senior forward had 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 9 Baylor to an 80-69 victory over No. 11 Colorado on Wednesday night at Waco, Texas.

“When I thought at one time I wouldn’t be here, this win means a lot,” Crockrom said. “We made it, and we stuck together. You don’t know how hard it is with a team that won seven games two years ago.”

Jessika Stratton had 12 points for Baylor, 22-4 overall and 10-4 in the Big 12 Conference.

Colorado (19-8, 9-5) cut the deficit to 71-65 with just more than three minutes remaining, but the Bears made nine of 12 free throws down the stretch to clinch the victory.

No. 1 Connecticut 106, Providence 41--The Huskies clinched their ninth straight Big East regular-season title at Storrs, Conn.

The Huskies (28-0, 14-0) led from the opening tip, as their speed quickly overwhelmed the Friars (11-14, 5-9).

UConn went on 14-0 run in the first five minutes, with Diana Taurasi scoring eight points in a spurt that included five UConn steals.

No. 13 Iowa State 62, Missouri 52--Angie Welle scored 20 points for the Cyclones at Columbia, Mo. Welle had 12 rebounds for her Big 12-leading 14th double-double of the season.

Iowa State (19-6, 7-6 in the Big 12) shot only 36% in the first half but held Missouri to 19% shooting to take a 22-15 lead at halftime.

Kerensa Barr led the Tigers (14-10, 5-8) with 18 points--16 in the second half.

No. 21 Boston College 73, Syracuse 63--Amber Jacobs scored 18 points for the Eagles at Boston.

Rachel Byars added 14 points for Boston College (20-5, 11-3 Big East), which reached 20 wins for the third time in four seasons.

Jazmine Wright scored 18 points for Syracuse (14-11, 7-7).

Miami 55, No. 24 Virginia Tech 53--Chanivia Broussard scored 17 of her 22 points in the second half to lead Miami (16-9, 9-5 Big East) at Coral Gables, Fla.

Virginia Tech (17-8, 8-6) lost for the sixth time in eight games.
