Time Warner Telecom Reports Wider Loss

Time Warner Telecom Inc., which sells telephone and Internet services to businesses, had a wider fourth-quarter loss on higher costs.
The loss expanded to $32.5 million, or 28 cents a share, from $3.4 million, or 3 cents, in the year-ago period, the company said. Sales rose 30% to $174 million. The Littleton, Colo.-based company is 45%-owned by AOL Time Warner Inc.
Operating costs rose 44% to $77.8 million as sales growth slowed and some customers filed for bankruptcy, the company said.
