Univision’s Profit Falls 69% as Ad Sales Decline
Univision Communications Inc., owner of the biggest U.S. Spanish-language television network, said fourth-quarter profit fell 69% as advertising sales declined.
Net income dropped to $10.9 million, or 5 cents a share, from $35 million, or 15 cents, a year earlier, the company said. Revenue at the Los Angeles-based company fell to $233.8 million from $238.9 million.
Univision forecast sales of $1.07 billion to $1.11 billion this year, up from $887.9 million last year. The company said first-quarter sales will be $210.5 million to $221 million. A year earlier, Univision reported $194.9 million in sales.
