Author to Discuss Mideast Stereotypes

Author and media critic Jack G. Shaheen will discuss Middle Eastern stereotypes at 10 a.m. Monday at Cal Lutheran University.

Shaheen’s lecture, “Resolving Arab Muslim Stereotypes: Finding Common Ground,” will attempt to illustrate how ethnic misperceptions can be harmful. He will also discuss why such caricatures persist.

The free lecture, presented by the university’s Colloquium of Scholars series, will be held in Samuelson Chapel. The campus is at 60 W. Olsen Road. Call 493-3151 for more information.
