Construction has begun on a $34-million expansion of Robert F. Kennedy Medical Center, the hospital announced this week.
The project will add 79 beds to the 255-bed facility, as well as new intensive care, obstetrics and neonatal intensive care units. Officials expect the expansion to be complete in 2004. The hospital was acquired this month by the Daughters of Charity Health System from Catholic Healthcare West.
