BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Ruben Boykin, L.A. University: Had 37 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists in a 77-68 victory over Littlerock in the Hart tournament.
Michael Hernandez, Whittier: Scored 34 points in a 58-50 victory over La Canada in the La Salle-Temple City tournament final and was named most valuable player.
Fred Washington, Torrance Bishop Montgomery: Had 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 74-43 victory over Calabasas in the Chaminade tournament final. He was MVP.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Stephanie Duda, Los Alamitos: Scored 42 points in a 77-62 victory over Porterville in the third-place game of the Monterey Seaside tournament.
Lindsey Pluimer, San Clemente: Had 22 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots for No. 7 San Clemente in a 56-42 victory over No. 3 Santa Ana Mater Dei in the final of the Edison/Marina tournament. She was named MVP.
Neka Mixon, Long Beach Wilson: Scored 25 points for No. 4 Wilson in a 64-42 victory over No. 16 Chino Hills Ayala in the Ayala tournament.
