Drunk Elk Shot After Attacking Swedish Boy
From Times Wire Reports
A drunken bull elk, intoxicated by fermented apples, was shot dead by Swedish police after it attacked a boy, the Aftonbladet newspaper reported.
The elk attacked the 8-year-old as he played in the garden of his home in Karlskoga, in central Sweden, the paper said. The youngster was shaken but escaped serious injury.
Elks, which are common in sparsely populated Sweden, are normally shy creatures but can become aggressive when they eat rotten apples, a favorite winter snack.
