A final look at the top girls’ golf teams in the Southland:

1. Peninsula (SS-Southern, 16-0)

Panthers upset two-time defending champion Torrey Pines at the CIF-WSCGA finals and finished second in Southern Section finals.

2. Dos Pueblos (SS-Northern, 16-0)

Chargers won the Southern Section team championship, won the Northern Divisional and broke 200 twice, including a 188 on Oct. 23 at Glen Annie Golf Course.

3. Long Beach Wilson (SS-Central, 15-0)

Bruins won their division and broke 200 four times, including a three-over-par 193. Only poor round came in section finals.

4. Camarillo (SS-Northern, 13-0)

Scorpions finished third in the CIF-WSCGA finals, fourth at the section championships and broke 210 four times.

5. Esperanza (SS-Southern, 16-1)

Aztecs kept improving and overcame an early-season loss to win a share of Sunset League title. They were third in the section finals.

6. Torrance (SS-Central, 11-0)

Three freshmen helped team average 214 during the regular season and finish sixth in section finals.

7. Santa Margarita (SS-Southern, 12-3)

Turned it up a notch in the postseason after finishing second to Rosary in the Serra League. Eagles were seventh in section finals.

8. Murrieta Valley (SS-Central, 17-0)

An undefeated season for the Southwestern League champions culminated with a fourth-place finish in the Central Divisional and a second consecutive appearance in the section championships.

9. South Torrance (SS-Southern, 15-3)

South Torrance proved it belongs in top 10 by finishing third in the Southern Divisional and 10th in the section championships. Only losses were to top-ranked Peninsula (twice) and No. 6 Torrance.

10. Agoura (SS-Northern, 17-0)

Chargers showed they could compete on a big course with an eighth-place finish at the section championships.
