Woman Sentenced in Workers’ Comp Fraud

A 43-year-old Oxnard woman has been sentenced to spend a month in jail and pay nearly $12,000 in restitution for lying about her employment status while receiving disability benefits, a prosecutor said.
During her sentencing Tuesday, Amelia Urango also was ordered to serve three years’ probation. She pleaded guilty in October to felony workers’ compensation insurance fraud, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Molly Appel.
