Northrop Acquires Fibersense Technology

Northrop Grumman Corp. bought navigation-systems maker Fibersense Technology Corp. for $44 million in cash.
The acquisition will help Northrop develop fiber optic gyroscope-based navigation systems, the company said. Fibersense, of Canton, Mass., makes the systems for missiles, aircraft and other uses.
Shares of Northrop rose $3.10 to $94.36 on the NYSE.
