‘The Practice’ makes move as ‘Dragnet’ lands
Faced with the prospect of launching three new dramas on the same night, ABC has opted to move “The Practice” to 9 p.m. Mondays in late January, replacing it on Sunday with a new version of the crime series “Dragnet,” starring Ed O’Neill.
According to ABC, moving “The Practice” -- whose ratings have been declining on Sundays -- will provide an established series leading into the new drama “Miracles,” about investigators of unexplained phenomena. Another new show, “Veritas,” is scheduled for 8 p.m. Mondays.
The changes take effect Jan. 27, in an effort to capitalize promotionally on ABC’s broadcast the day before of the Super Bowl, traditionally the year’s most-watched event.
