SPARKS TODAY
Radio--KSPN (1110).
Championship series--Sparks lead, 1-0.
Update--New York is in familiar territory. The Liberty has lost the first game of every postseason series it has played in 2002 and come back to win the next two games. This time it will be trying to win on the road, something it has not done so far in these playoffs. “I’d like to think we took their best shot, but it’s dangerous to think that way,” Spark forward DeLisha Milton said. Milton, Leslie and Latasha Byears were able to smother the inside play of Liberty forwards Tamika Whitmore and Tari Phillips, holding them to a combined six-for-22 shooting. The Liberty cannot afford for Whitmore and Phillips to be nonfactors if New York is to extend the series to a third and final game Sunday.
Game 3 (if necessary)--Sunday at Staples Center, 12:30 p.m. (Channel 4).
Tickets--(877) 962-2849 or (213) 480-3232.
