7 Held in Beating and Stabbing of Male Teen
Sheriff’s deputies have arrested seven suspects in the beating and stabbing of a 17-year-old Thousand Oaks boy.
The boy was attacked on Wilbur Road as he was walking home from a friend’s house about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 17, according to deputies.
He was stabbed with a knife a dozen times by at least two assailants and underwent surgery at Los Robles Regional Medical Center. He was released last week.
Four adults are each being held in lieu of $500,000 bail at the East County Jail. They are Daniel Lemus, 19, Lauren Rodriguez, 18, Allan Calero, 19, and Gerardo Ku, 18. Three other male suspects, ranging in age from 14 to 17, are being held at Juvenile Hall pending a court hearing.
All the suspects are from Thousand Oaks and were arrested Thursday, according to the deputies.
Lemus and two of the juveniles are documented members of a Thousand Oaks gang, deputies said, adding that the four other suspects are known to associate with the gang.
Officials said the victim is not associated with gangs and had recently moved into the area.
