Gardener’s Drowning Apparently an Accident

An 18-year-old gardener who was found dead in a backyard swimming pool Friday apparently accidentally fell in and drowned, police said.
Firefighters arrived at the home in the 6200 block of Baird Avenue at 6:47 p.m. after the gardener was found in the pool by his employer. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not known whether the man could swim or if he had injured himself before falling in. His name was not released.
