11,000 Hotel Workers May Walk Off Jobs
About 7,000 Chicago hotel workers may go on strike this weekend, and 4,000 workers in Hawaii have authorized a walkout, potentially cutting profits for Hilton Hotels Corp. and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.
Hilton, the No. 3 U.S. hotel company, has three of its eight largest hotels in Chicago and Hawaii. Starwood owns two W hotels in Chicago and manages four Sheratons in Waikiki.
Shares of Hilton were down 20 cents to $11.51. Shares of Starwood were down 3 cents to $25.78. Both trade on the NYSE.
