Downtown Area Is Blacked Out Briefly
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
An electrical circuit blew out in downtown Los Angeles Thursday, knocking out power briefly to about a dozen major office buildings, city utility officials said.
The power failure was reported at 3:26 p.m. in an area bounded by Main Street and Bunker Hill, a DWP spokeswoman said.
Buildings affected included the Los Angeles Times, Angeles Plaza, California Plaza, Library Square and the Grand Promenade. Service was restored to most customers within minutes.
