Volvo, the world’s No. 2 maker of heavy trucks, said sales in July rose 29%, led by demand in the U.S. in advance of new emissions regulations and as customers sought newly released models. Second-quarter profit fell 21% to $110 million, a smaller decline than analysts expected, as the introduction of new truck models in Europe and U.S. customers’ purchases partly offset a widening pension-fund deficit.
