Solar Dash Getting Another Chance to Shine
Stretched out to 550 yards on June 30, Solar Dash scored a victory in the Avison Handicap for owner-trainer Adan Farias.
A 4-year-old gelded son of A Classic Dash, Solar Dash will try for another victory at the seldom-run distance in tonight’s feature, a $12,550 allowance.
The California-bred will have five opponents, including Butter Me Up CST, who is shortening up after four consecutive starts at 870 yards. Owned by Sergio Gonzalez and trained by Felix Gonzalez, the 6-year-old gelding was third behind Sign Of Lanty in an allowance race on July 14. He has won 11 of 39 and banked over $140,000.
Completing the field in the eighth race are Strawfly Ta Lou, Azure Classic Dash, Nordick Only VM and Old Easy Money.
Like Butter Me Up CST, Azure Classic Dash is cutting back after running in seven 870-yard races in a row while Strawfly Ta Lou, Nordick Only VM and Old Easy Money have been going shorter. The latter two are trained by Jaime Gomez.
