Male Driver, 18, Is Killed in Car Crash

An 18-year-old North Hollywood man was killed early Tuesday when his car collided with another at Vanowen Street and Woodman Avenue, authorities said.
Hector Barraza was driving east on Vanowen Street about 3:45 a.m. when he hit a car heading south on Woodman driven by a 26-year-old woman, said Officer Jack Richter of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Barraza was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.
