Passengers Arouse Suspicion; Jet Lands
A jetliner that took off from Philadelphia for Florida returned to the airport because several passengers of Middle Eastern appearance had purchased one-way tickets for cash, and one of them seemed to be talking into his chest, passengers said.
The incident was one of four Sunday in which air travelers of Middle Eastern appearance or descent were questioned by the FBI. The other flights were in Houston; Washington, D.C.; and Baltimore.
FBI spokeswoman Linda Vizi said all the suspicious passengers were interviewed and released.
Those briefly detained in Houston were Saudi Embassy staffers.
