3-Year-Old Dies in Stanton Pool
A 3-year-old Stanton boy drowned in a backyard swimming pool Saturday, apparently falling into the water after his mother went inside to answer the phone, police said.
The boy’s mother called 911 at 5:31 p.m. after finding him floating face down, said Lt. Greg Russell of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy tried to revive the child using cardiopulmonary resuscitation when he arrived at the home in the 8000 block of Hynes Road.
Paramedics arrived a short time later and also administered CPR, but failed to revive him, Russell said.
The boy was identified by the Orange County Coroner’s Office as Quentin Alexander Sergott.
He was taken to Western Medical Center-Anaheim and pronounced dead a short time later, Russell said.
Investigators determined that the drowning was accidental, Russell said.
