Update--The Avengers opened the season with a 43-25 victory over the New York Dragons at Staples Center. Offensive specialist Chris Jackson had 12 catches for 145 yards and four touchdowns. In the last three games against Arizona, Jackson has 31 catches for 383 yards and 11 touchdowns. Quarterback Tony Graziani came off the bench last season in his Arena Football League debut to lead the Avengers to a 54-48 overtime victory over the Rattlers in Phoenix. Now the starter, Graziani completed 23 of 39 for 273 yards and four touchdowns in last week’s victory over New York. Arizona opened the season with a 52-51 loss at San Jose. The Rattlers are led by 10-year veteran Hunkie Cooper, who has more than 600 career receptions, but had only three for 28 yards against San Jose. Quarterback Sherdrick Bonner of Azusa High and Cal State Northridge was intercepted in the end zone with a little more than a minute to play in the loss to San Jose, but completed 17 of 36 passes for 223 yards and five touchdowns. Chris Horn caught five passes for 73 yards to lead Arizona.
