From Times Staff Reports

A Los Angeles police detective said Wednesday that tests have been ordered to determine whether an 18-year-old woman whose body was found under a pile of clothes at her home in Lincoln Heights last week had been sexually assaulted.

Man Cooc Duong, 53, is being held without bail in the case, Det. Tom Herman said. He was the live-in boyfriend of the mother of the victim, Linda Au, for five years before moving out the day before Au was slain. Duong bore signs of some physical injuries when he surrendered to police this week, Herman said.

Au was an honor student and varsity basketball player at Verdugo Hills High School.
